Honeycomb wax forms a protective barrier on the lips, locking in moisture and preventing them from becoming dry and chapped. In addition, this precious wax contains vitamin A, helping to rejuvenate the skin cells on our lips. 
 
The antioxidant properties of sweet orange oil can help protect lips from environmental stressors. This beautiful oil is soothing, moisturising, hydrating and protective. 
 
Carrot seed oil is the essential oil extract derived from the dried seeds of the Daucus Carota— the wild carrot plant, or “Queen Anne's Lace.” The regal flowering plant is grown yearly or bi-yearly and has hairy leaves and umbrella-shaped white lacy flowers with purple centres. It is a miracle ingredient, rich in carotene and vitamin A, which are both highly-effective antioxidants. Paired with supremely moisturising vitamin E, these powerful oils work beautifully together to boost your lips into their healthiest state. Rejuvenating and healing at a very high level. 
 
Cardamom is an unsung hero in lip care. This enigmatic oil tirelessly soothes dry, cracked lips and provides immediate relief. 
Cardamom also has antibacterial properties for lips that are cracked, sore and need aid. It is a wonderful alternative to menthols often used in lip care, with no disrespect to our gorgeous mints, we have a place for them too.
 
Almond oil is rich in Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant, which aids in preventing the damage caused by free radicals and UV radiation. This helps in reducing pigmentation and discolouration, leading to healthier and naturally pinker lips.
 
Cold Pressed, Hexane-free, Castor Oil, is deeply moisturising. One of the primary benefits of using castor oil on lips is its exceptional moisturising properties. Castor oil is rich in fatty acids, particularly ricinoleic acid, which penetrates deep into the skin, providing intense hydration. Using it regularly can help prevent dryness, chapping, and flakiness, leaving your lips soft and well-nourished. The healing properties of castor oil make it an effective solution for treating cracked and damaged lips. The emollient properties of the oil aid in the healing of small wounds and cracks on the lips as well as in reducing discomfort.
 
Raw Cocoa butter forms a light barrier on your lips, deeply moisturising and conditioning, preventing them from drying out 
 
Pure Coffee Bean Oil prevents dehydration, increases elastin and collagen production, as well as production of specific proteins that decrease moisture loss and improve hydration levels. It is also rich in antioxidants, circulation boosting, helping to lips to appear more youthful. 
 
*This formulation uses just enough Sweet Orange oil to benefit from the powerful properties of limonene, whilst not too much to cause unnecessary sunburn. Do take care when sunbathing with all lip balms possessing plant oils, however, and apply necessary SPFs where sun exposure may be exaggerated.
 
*South African Beeswax is a 100% natural product. Our precious beeswax comes from small local producers where the wax, along with honey, is harvested at the end of the productive season.
 
The combs containing the young bees(brood) are not affected. 
 
The hive is not destroyed and used combs are recycled. The combs are melted in hot water. The raw wax is then cleaned and purified by filtration on activated charcoal, before being put into pellets.
